Celebrating my 5th Birthday
My very first blog post was on 8 January 2012 and since then I have posted a picture nearly every day. It has been a long haul but in doing it I have developed as a photographer and have met many superb photographers and fellow bloggers along the way. I really feel that many of you have become friends and I always look forward to hearing from you and seeing your work.
This set of photos is taken from January 2012, my first month of posting on Life, Photography & Other Mistakes….otherwise known as smithiesshutter!
My eternal thanks to those of you who keep coming back to say hello and to pass on your encouragement. Without that I would have given up long ago.
Here’s to the next 5 years!
My best regards
John
Congratulations. I have always appreciated your photos!
Hello Victor. Thanks very much and I appreciate your skills as a wildlife photography though I have neither the equipment nor the patience to have a go…..but each to their own.
Happy new year to you.
Regards
John
Thank you
Many happy returns John
Thanks Ian.
Excellent celebration!
Thanks David and a happy new year to you,

So many of these are really wonderful photos John. And congratulations on five years! BTW the average life of a blog is 3 years.
Alison
Thanks Alison. It’s probably the result of getting into bad habits! It has helped me to move on with my photography, thanks again.
Happy 5th John! I look forward to enjoying another 5 years and congratulating you on your 10th! All the best.. Rob
Thanks Rob, though I’m not sure that I can manage another 5 years.
Regards
John
In that regard, John, I am sure you’ll surprise us all!
Great achievement! I love your abstract and landscape compositions in this post!
Thanks again, it was difficult to select favourites out of 365 images!
Congratulations, dear John…so happy to have been following along since near the very beginning. You’ve shared some of my favorite photos from your corner of the world…. Wishing you well for the next five years…and more.
Hello Scott, and thank you. The world seems to be going to the dogs but thee and me remain in our small corners trying to stay sane…another five years….doesn’t bare thinking about!
