All Aboard
The engine driver looks back down the train and waits patiently as the guard checks that all the doors are closed. Departure time is imminent and a small group of enthusiasts wait at the end of the platform for the pyrotechnics as the engine has to pull out up a gradient. Engine men are general skilled at their job and the train left without spinning its wheels, but of course, he had to show his mastery because there was a female photographer on the footplate, watching his every move.
Wonderful portrait!
Very pleased that you liked it, David, I really wasn’t sure about placing him at the edge.
It works!
Thanks!
John, a striking image of the engineer. Were you standing right below him?
Indeed I was Tim. When there’s a hot steaming monster, simmering away, you stand as close as possible to soak up the atmosphere. Oh, I was, of course referring to the locomotive, and not the engineer!
Of course!!! Steaming people seem to blow up. At least locomotives have some restraint.
amazing portrait and expression well captured!
Hi Vincent. Appreciate your support.
Lovely shot John; a real stand out photograph!
Hi Peter, that’s very encouraging. Thanks very much.
Great expression in this one!
Yes, thanks, I had to bring him out of the shadows.
Well you certainly did so!!
Wow, great composition and well done capturing that moment.
Thanks Lutz, thanks very much!
