Suburban Street Varanasi
Most of the time with taking photos in the street, you don’t have time to consider where to stand, or even to decide on the decisive moment when you grab the shot, so what happens within the four walls of the picture that you bring back home is pretty much down to luck.
You may recognise that I have reframed this scene by making a crop so that all the moving elements are contained inside the picture boundaries. You might also sense that I have focussed the light so that there’s more of a tonal balance between the well lit and less well lit areas using a type of vignette.
Pressing the shutter is only the first step. Even now I can see things that I should have corrected but that will have to wait for another day.
