Eklingi Interior

While driving from Pushkar to Udaipur in Rajasthan, Bagga, our driver, offered to stop off at Eklingi, so that we could visit the ancient temple close to the village.

The ‘old people’ were allowed to stretch their legs in the village and while I was climbing a set of narrow stone steps between another temple and a cluster of houses, I suddenly heard a voice calling me from above. “Come and have a look at our house” he said, so taking off my shoes I was invited into this beautifully painted traditional Rajasthani house interior.

The owner stood proudly next to a framed picture of his grandfather in this delightful and intimate interior.
