At the Crossing

At the Crossing

Train travel in India is always entertaining and there are so many glimpses as you pass through the countryside. Glimpses as in things you would love to photograph if you were quick enough, or the window was cleaner, or you were standing at an open doorway!

In this case I was at a doorway.

Crossing points like this are entertaining as well because everyone jostles for position so that when the barrier goes up the two opposite streams, filling the whole carriageway, somehow manage to advance on each other without too many accidents.

The character on the left looks a little piratical, but his face is covered against the dust that chokes your nostrils, even when inside a car.
