Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond

Perhaps if I had given this scene the title ‘Summer in Scotland’ it might put you off ever visiting here. In truth, this summer has been cool and damp and as I write this at the end of July, the weather is the same, perhaps worse, as it’s raining. Let’s hope that in August the weather will improve, but I’m not holding my breath.

The 1950s paddle steamer is the ‘Maid of the Loch’ and is seen moored at Balloch Pier. In the distance are the ‘Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond’

Take note, though, that the Scots are a hardy breed, and one of them is about to swim all the way to the Kyle of Localsh……. possibly!
