Eoin & Stan
Eoin, one of the very patient gallery interpreters at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, who happens to enjoy street photography, is standing in front of a photo by the Canadian photographer Stan Douglas.
Amongst the very fine work by Douglas was this reconstruction of a 1940s scene. His work is enjoyably theatrical and is remarkable for the thoroughness of his preparation for this type of period reconstruction.
These large prints make quite an impact and encourage you to enter into the mood and atmosphere of the scene, something that much smaller prints don’t really allow. I would love to produce prints of this size, though doing so would require a large investment in printing and framing costs. Don’t think I could get one in the car, either!
