The View from Sandymount
I assume that those magnificent chimneys belong to a power station, beyond which is the entrance to the port of Dublin.
We played with the grandchildren on this, actually, very pleasant beach.
It reminds me of the photographs of Massimo Vitali who took views on European beaches, often with people bathing at idyllic locations, but with industrial plants lurking in the distance, and of course, the British photographer, Martin Parr, did something similar with people sunbathing next to a bulldozer, or by polluted water.
