Here’s Looking at You
Like all galleries and museums, the Irish Museum of Modern Art is a great place for photography because of the lighting, and the, often, quite static visitors.
I’m sorry but I haven’t been able to trace the name of the photographer who’s work is seen in this photo, despite looking at their website. There is drama in these portraits and I like their placement in the frame and the sheen on the girls hair is very nice but the contrasty side lighting leaves me unsure about the portrait faces where the features are harsh and the eyes are lost in the shadows. However, I do like black and white portraits and these have an alluring simplicity and directness about them.
