Buccleuch Street Bridge from the North

Buccleuch Street Bridge from the North

Sandstone was the material of choice for many of the fine buildings of Dumfries and its warm tones are evident in this photo.

In a moment of mental aberration when posting an earlier view showing this bridge, I called it St Michael’s Bridge. Since then I have started taking two tablets instead of the one, so hopefully there won’t be further geographical bloomers.

I have also cleaned my glasses,……….  so this bridge is on Buccleuch Street and is actually called ‘New Bridge’, while St Michael’s Bridge is the third bridge downstream.
