St Michael’s Bridge

St Michael's Bridge

The next bridge down stream is Devorgilla’s Bridge that dates from late medieval times and is the one that usually gets photographed because it stands just above the wear, so this bridge, St Michael’s has only ever been in the background of my photos at this location on the River Nith. Both bridges are stoutly built which is a good thing because the Nith often floods here.

I’ve just noticed that this is my 1,400th post at the rate of one a day for nearly three and a half years. A pat on the back, Smithy!
