Springtime Haar

Springtime Haar

The Moat Brae is an ancient mound that stands by the harbour in Kirkcudbright (Ker-coo-bree).

This photo was taken on April 6th after two days when a cold damp haar had made us wonder if the spring really was just around the corner. A haar is the Scottish term for a sea fog. In North-east England it’s called a sea fret.
