Northwest from Torrs

North-West from Torrs

It is low tide and the River Dee can be seen following its meandering course across Kirkcudbright Bay, towards the sea (behind us). The tongue of land that projects into the bay is St Mary’s Isle which at this time of the year is full of daffodils. The Dee flows to the left of the Isle, and to the right is the tidal inlet of Manxman’s Lake.

The line of hills on the horizon is the eastern end of the ridge that can be seen in my recent post, North-West from Knockbrex.
