Badami School
This 2009 visit to Badami in Karnataka was memorable and as with most places I’ve visited in India, the people are in the main very welcoming, and in no way fazed by the camera. This group of primary age students were busy working in the shade of the verandah of their school room. I first visited this small town in 1997, using it as a base to visit the villages of Pattadakal and Aihole where there are many temples dating back to the 6th Century. When I think back to my own teaching experiences I might regret that there were few times when things were as relaxed as they appear to be in this little school.
No pretensions… it’s always great to shoot kids, right?
Beautiful image, John 🙂
Well, I wouldn’t ordinarily take photos of kids unless it was with permission but the teachers were aware here. Thanks Sreejith.
The best thing about taking photos of children is, we could get natural images whether they are conscious about being photographed or not…
There are no pretensions, right 🙂
Absolutely, innocence is very photogenic. Thanks again Sreejith.
This is delightful image. Considering all the colors in India, I’m wondering what this image would look like in color.
A little muddled, especially as the bright sun was leeching out the colour…..thanks Tim.
It does look b&w but sunlight on color film does react that way.
Lovely shot John! 🙂
Hi Peter…..thanks for that.
