Ambiguities

Ambiguities

Reflections and reality come together in a confusing way in this evening street scene in Kirkcudbright (Ker-coo-bree). Members of the Stewartry Camera Club were out in force to catch the sunset in the harbour and over the river Dee, and a fine one it was, but yours truly was out hunting portrait subject matter and shop fronts. A portrait coming up soon.

  1. I really like this image. The reflections are very nice but is the overall sense of painterliness about it that draws me into the image. The scene reminds me of Edward Hoppers painting “Nighthawks.” Yours has that somewhat voyeuristic feeling without the people sitting at the counter.
