Beneath the proud sandstone cliffs at the eastern end of the tank in Badami, is this pretty temple that’s reflected in the green waters of the lake. On my first visit here it was somewhat neglected but is now very tidy and restored. In some restorations the addition of neat lawns can make the ensemble look rather false, but here the effect is quite delightful. I believe that some very old carvings were uncovered at the back of that large boulder by the temple. Many structures at Badami date from the 6th Century.
