Hampi Bazaar

Hampi Bazaar

A quiet afternoon at the Eastern end of Hampi Bazaar. Behind us in the distance is the prominent gateway of the Virupaksha Temple, and in front the pathway curves around to the left past Matanga Hill and then it follows the Tungabhadra River until you arrive at the shore temple as seen in my post Walking Home from 2 April.

On one visit here the monkeys along the river were causing trouble with visitors by trying to steal bags or bananas from people, and that can be a bit frightening. Best to take a stick with you, and certainly you should not not flaunt your bananas.
