Fabrication Workshop

Fabrication Workshop

We’re back in the harbour area of Kannur, and a different treatment of a metal fabricating workshop, with this image getting a more gritty texture and a light colour wash, mainly as an attempt to hide a less than perfect exposure under contrasty light.

Each image, under such circumstances, is a challenge and demands a resolution. So nil desperandum is my moto when confronted by photos that were gained at the gallop on location, such that you can’t easily go back and take them again. It was always a necessary approach when I was working with film where I frequently got the processing wrong and then had to spend a lot of time in the dark room trying to get a passable print, so you see, it’s not possible to change the habits of a lifetime, because…..slow down……isn’t part of my vocabulary.
