Devorgilla’s Bridge

Devorgilla's Bridge

A view of the Old Bridge in Dumfries taken last week and given a toned treatment. I was there again yesterday while a boat race from the sea up to the Caul, as the weir is called, was taking place. If any of the pictures are worth posting they might appear here, but it was a very dark and miserable day, so I’m not hopeful.

A little of the history of the bridge can be found in an earlier posting….. here.

  1. I’m drawn to settings of water, John…and you’ve plenty to offer us from your Isles. This one is beautiful in monochrome…and colors might have distracted us a bit.
