Bus Depot
We had been visiting the harbour in Kannur and had started to head back to our hotel in the car when I spied some workshops along the road. I jumped out the car and set off on foot with Ian in hot pursuit and we came across the bus stand with its cafe and roadside repair shop. It was after 6.30 and the light was falling fast but I managed to capture these two as they put some air into a bus tyre.
I love the picture and the guy in the Kerla skirt! I love incredible India! Namaste. . .. Anne
Incredible India……Oh yes……thanks Anne.
That is a scary sight, I worked on over the road trucks and buses with those type of rims, they are called split rims and if not put together right they can explode sending the rim, and lock ring several hundred yard’s. I have seen where they have taken off body parts, and even killed people.
Oh dear….seriously scary……..as is any form of travel in India.
A great environmental portrait.
Thanks, much appreciated.
Skirt? No Paris fashion here. It’s called a “Mundu”. Tied up for cool and comfort, but let down when talking respectfully to somebody. Namaskaram! Carina 🙂
Thanks Carina. I thought that it was a dhoti….so perhaps that’s the language differences. Your explanation is very helpful, thanks again.
