Little Ross

Little Ross

Two views as we approach Ross Island in preparation for mooring before going ashore.

The lighthouse is prominent, and to the left can be seen the beacon that, when lined up with the lighthouse, provides the correct course for entering the channel into Kirkcudbright Bay. On the horizon, beyond the rocks, is the Isle of Man which is about 22 miles away. The Isle of Man lies in the middle of the Irish Sea, half way between the UK mainland and The Republic of Ireland.
