Towpath

Towpath

This water colour sketch was done on a visit to Stone in Staffordshire, and shows the towpath used by the horses that pulled narrowboats along the Trent and Mersey Canal. This view shows the point where the path rises up onto a bridge in order for the horse to cross over to the other side of the canal.

Hopefully it makes a change from the daily photograph.

  1. John, i looked at this image a few times before i realised it was a painting 🙂 Really nice my friend, I love the lighting, the colours , the feeling of texture and the way its drawing my eyes down the pathway and around the corner. Great job my friend 🙂
