Fylingthorpe Flowers

Fylingthorpe Flowers

Old St Stephen’s Church stands on Raw Pasture Bank on the road between High Hawsker and Robin Hoods Bay, just south of Whitby in Yorkshire. The village of Fylingthorpe lies well below it, nestling in the valley. It has a well documented graveyard where past generations of family have found a resting place. It’s a plain and simple building befitting the stout and hard working community of farmers and seafarers.

The wildflowers, no doubt, came from the churchyard…..a simple and appropriate token offered by those who care for the church.
