Edge of the Loch
A calm winter’s day and Carlingwark Loch is like a mirror in the afternoon sunlight. The Loch stands on the southern approaches to the small town of Castle Douglas and has been the focus of human activity since the Iron Age. This view was taken on a day like today in Scotland when the sun has shone down from a clear blue sky and the frost lies in the hollows from dawn to dusk. Hopefully it will remain clear tonight as there are indications that the aurora may be visible. Camera and tripod are at the ready.
