Wellspring
In yesterday’s post we saw a working boat, Fredwood, in Kirkcudbright Harbour. Here we see the Wellspring that sits in quiet retirement, perhaps 500 yards to the north of the harbour, on the grassy banks of the Dee. Wellspring will journey no more on the foaming main but maybe it gets reminded of happier times on those days when the sea comes to the Wellspring in the form of the Spring High Tide.
Great colour in this image John, and almost tangible texture with the peeling paint.
Hi Adrian, and yes I was very happy with the slightly muted colours in this one, so thanks for commenting.
Yes, agreed. Excellent texture, and I like how the crashing of the sky into land are mimicked by the colors on the boat.
…..and we’ll noticed….it’s blindingly obvious now you point it out. Thanks Neverphoto.
Sure thing. I’m here for the obvious bits… 😉
…and call me Nev.

Love this image!
Hello Robyn…..the bit I love is that bit of the trees and the reflections against the scale of the boat.
Hopefully the Wellspring had a full life, as well as a long one…looks well-worn.
Well worn….like us all…..and pensioned off…… well me anyway.. 🙂
