Buchan Burn
Buchan Woods stand on the north side of Loch Trool in the heart of the Galloway Forest Park. This early September view of Buchan Burn shows one of the many small streams joining the burn as it rushes down from……you’ve guessed it….. Buchan Hill.
Loch Trool, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.

Looks like the stream that I walked many times when I was growing up in the woods. I liked the way the water curls around the rocks…
Thanks Mary, and you were very fortunate to be growing up in such surroundings. My formative years were in the back streets of the city…..I can remember floating match boxes down the gutter with my friends, the Spalls….. 🙂
Incidentally this picture was not easy to frame, and the crop is much of a compromise. As you can see I used the blur tool to soften the distractions.
Yes, my surroundings when I was growing up were organic and natural. All our food was grown on the land and I played outdoors in the sunshine and climbed trees. I was fortunate and feel blessed.
Childhood…happy days indeed.
Beautiful…and it almost looks miniaturized somehow…wonderful detail, John….
…a part of my model railway…….. I wish !
Wouldn’t that be nice? 🙂
