Shoreham Creek

The scene at Shoreham-by-Sea in West Sussex taken on a blustery day in early October. The view is from the Brighton Road where it crosses the estuary of the River Adure, looking west. The creek in question is fed by a small stream that runs past Shoreham Airport away to the right which has a beautiful period art-deco style terminal building that has featured in Agatha Christie’s Poirot, starring David Suche.

Along the far side of the creek can be seen a variety of moored houseboats, there are about 44 in total, that add interest and character to the river.

The photo is a three frame HDR but I decided to use just one of the set for the sky as the clouds were moving very quickly. The photos were hand held shots.

  1. I had to zoom-in a bit to see that those are actually boats, John…they rather have the appearance of being something of a neighborhood of buildings out there…which some might suggest that they are anyway….
