Beached

A closer view of Aztec drawn up on the shoulder of mud just south of the harbour at a point close to where the old ferry used to cross the Dee, in the years before the building of the bridge in the 1860s. I love the way the HDR process brings out the qualities of surface and detail. It gives the whole image an antique feel which is encouraged by my use of a sepia tone.

Kirkcudbright Harbour, on the river Dee, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
