Dark Shore

The East coast of Britain on a stormy day. I think the location is north of that interesting old town of Whitby and the haunt of the photographer Frank Meadow Sutcliffe FRPS who worked between 1875 and 1910 to record the landscape, villages and most of all, the people of this fishing and farming community.

    • This is an example of how the camera can lie….. or at least suggest a crisis out of a little drama. That’s what happens when you expose for the highlights. It was bright and sunny within minutes….. but distortion of reality does make for a nice picture!

      Thanks for your positive review.

  1. Excellent pic! Reminds me of the weather here in Dublin where I arrive yesterday for business meetings. Did get a chance to walk along the shore of Dublin Bay, but the view was no where near as dramatic as this. Very nice.
