Ernakulum Junction

The previous two posts featured life aboard a train, so let’s see where we started from. Ernakulum Junction, it just rolls off the tongue, and why not as we are standing next to the Pure Vegetarian Restaurant in the IRCTC Food Mahall and unlikely to see the like for the next fourteen hours, so it’s time to stock the larder so to speak.

Most travellers, faced with this seem to be overcome by an emotional catharsis. They stand around, staring vacantly like the people in this picture, emptied of all rational thought.

  1. I remember this platform very well and the mad rush to get to the other end of the platform when the train arrived, we were at the wrong end! Headed north to Goa overnight.
