Badami is a small but very interesting town located in a fascinating area of Karnataka, India. If you ever visit India, put this place on your itinerary, and spend a little while exploring it’s narrow streets. Badami is famous for the rock-cut caves which were just behind where I was standing to take this picture, but there is much more to see. Watch out for the monkeys though, a Swiss girl nearly lost her handbag outside the caves. The whole area is a proving ground for early temple designs so why not stay at the Badami Court Hotel and spend a couple of days exploring the region.
