Girl in a Doorway
Hampi is one of my favourite places on the planet. It is at the heart of the old Vijayanagara Empire (1336-1646) in the south of India and is now a World Heritage Site. The village of Hampi is at the western end of the site and parts of the ancient Bazaar are occupied by villagers though attempts were being made to move them to another site which would completely destroy the attraction of the place.
I came across this girl sweeping at the front of her house but when I asked if she minded me taking her photo, she shyly went inside. Even so I was able to capture her as she went about her work.
