Steaming Past

This may not be a perfect photo but it’s the best that I could achieve under such contrasty lighting in 1997 and to me it’s the atmosphere that counts. Steam in Indian was about to be eclipsed and at this time there were only a couple of places where you could experience a working steam shed on the metre gauge system. This was one of them. Wankaner Junction in Gujarat. A friendly group of railwaymen and real steam. Bliss!

  1. Thanks Mark, it’s from the steam era of photography….. colour negative film which I scanned and tried to extract what wasn’t really there to be extracted….I enjoyed those days in the dark-room. Digital is the answer to a prayer, though, isn’t it?
