Dark Dublin

I aim for contrast and variety in my posts and after yesterday’s views of the colourful culture of India, today’s is perhaps somewhat downbeat. Night-time shots are often eerie, sinister or threatening. They also have an ‘out of time and space’ quality. This picture shows part of the Four Courts complex off Church Street on the banks of the Liffey in central Dublin. I like the staring blankness of the facade and the etherial blue light illuminating it, and no doubt for those who enter court here, the imposing nature of the building would re-enforce the view that ‘things are not taken lightly here’.
