Goldsmith’s Workshop
My series of photos taken in the market area of Fort Cochi continues with this interior shot of the workshop of a jewellery maker. The red mirror against the blue wall reveals the shoulder of the artisan himself, sitting across the room. The colours and details are quite beautiful, despite the damp coming through the walls.
Fort Cochi, Kerala, India. 16 February, 2013.

Great image!!! I like the definition of the shot that enhances the atmosphere of decay of the room.
Thanks Santi, I was very happy with this view.
I didn’t realise you were in Inida.. or did I ? gosh it’s hard to keep up with everyone.. great shot John.
Back home now and suffering withdrawal symptoms…..
Thanks Helen.
I can imagine !
Very nice, I really like this one.
Thanks Mark….lots of interesting detail attracted me.
Hi John, welcome home! I love the colours and the neat but ramshackle beauty of this photo, really lovely. I now need to catch up with the many other great pictures you’ve been posting, and hope to see you soon to hear all about the trip! Much love x
Hi Miss Ellie twosome. Hope you are well. Yes, lots of photos and a new departure with so many portraits that I have loved doing. See you both soon.
A very humble, yet rich place. I like it a lot, John…excellent find.
Nice expression, Scott…..humble, yet rich….. I hope that we all are like that.
I hope the same, John….
Great colours and I love the way you used the mirror, makes me want to buy a plane ticket!
Buy one for me as well……..
if I’d seen the mirror when I was there, it would have had the guy’s face reflected in it.
That red against the wall is something else though, isn’t it…
