Back at the garage again…….
….on Monday….again….at the garage.
….well I hit this pothole going north to Balmaclellan, on that section of the road that runs alongside Loch Ken just by the sailing centre where the road takes a curve to the right. We were going to visit Mary to view some SPF competition photos and it was dark. In daylight you can spot them. At night you have no chance. It must have been a big one as the car lurched violently and the sound of the wheel hitting the hole made me think that the airbag had gone off…..and straight away the dashboard beeped into life with a flashing warning sign that looked like a problem with the brakes…… so I ended up at the garage next day.
It was a broken wire to the engine management system and a hundred quid down the drain.
Then as I was driving to see Ma and Pa at Palnackie and the fairy lights beeped again…..every ten minutes….low coolant level.
They had the car all day. The guy doing the work had gone home as I arrived to collect the car. It was snowing. The other two were very apologetic and said they thought he had found no problems with the radiator. Perhaps there’s a gremlin in the electronics.
So I took this photo….. f3.5 at 1/60 sec, ISO 3200 …….the new camera can rattle off pictures at high ISO without an offensive noise gremlin in sight……perhaps the Olympus engineers would like to have a look at the electronics on the car.

One of those potholes that you feel all the way into your back pocket…not good….
Ouch….indeed.
Still waiting for the bill for the radiator check up…..is there no end to it….
Ah well……if I hadn’t hit the pothole…….. I wouldn’t have taken a photo in the garage, it kind of makes up for it, sort of……perhaps……………dam it all …… I’d rather have the hundred in the back pocket..
Hmm, yeah, that’s a rather expensive photograph….
