Approaching the Pontoon at Night
It was a perfect evening for sailing, the water was as flat as a millpond and it was dark by the time we returned to the berth at the pontoon. The lights of Kirkcudbright reflect and jiggle, and give an orange cast to the low cloud and misty air. On the right, David stands ready with the line as we prepare to come alongside. The flashing blue light glows briefly at the end of the pontoon and is reflected in the mirror-like surface of the Dee Estuary.

Great shot!!! I like the composition, colours and the ghostly atmosphere!!!
Thanks so much Santi.
I like it a lot, John…the color, the mood…even the jiggle…very nice.
Yes my jiggle is world renowned……… fortunately haven’t been arrested for it yet.
Hmm…sounds like something that should be exercised with caution…..
This is just really so beaautiful John.. the reflections, the colour, the graininess, everything
Thanks very much Helen, I wasn’t sure what to do about the overall colour. It didn’t work in mono or when toned, so it had to stay.
